Description

Among the MS remains of Mahāyāna texts in the Schøyen Collection a manuscript of the Vajracchedikā has been discovered comprising roughly three-fourths of the complete text which significantly adds to our knowledge of the Sanskrit text of this famous discourse. In "Vajracchedikā Prajñāpāramitā" (pp. 89–132) Paul Harrison and Shōgo Watanabe present an informative bibliographical survey, a description of the MS (date: ca. 6th–7th century) and of its relationship with other extant Vajracchedikā MSS, discuss its linguistic characteristics, then transliterate the text and finally reconstruct it.
