Likewise, may all renunciates who wish to attain liberation renounce their home, wander homelessly, and be able to preserve morality without decline in their moral commitments, which helps to cool the heat of the defilements. In case of lapses of morality or breaking of rules, may they strongly regret it and repair their vows immediately. May they completely exhaust all sins and unwholesome deeds and be completely purified. Temporarily may they always attain higher rebirth, become renunciates, and observe moral conduct without decline.

The faults that result from an impaired discipline have been described by the Buddha himself:

དམ་ཆོས་ཐོས་པར་མི་འགྱུར་ཞིང༌། །

ཐོས་པ་མྱུར་དུ་བརྗེད་པར་འགྱུར། །

ས་ལམ་རྟོགས་པའང་ཡོངས་མི་སྐྱེ། །

One will not listen to the holy teaching,
And what one hears will quickly be forgotten.
Realization of the grounds and paths will not arise.

ཞེས་དང༌།

It was also said:

ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་འཆལ་བ་ངན་འགྲོར་དེ་འགྲོ་སྟེ། ། དེ་ལ་ཐོས་པ་མང་པོས་སྐྱོབ་མི་འགྱུར། །

When discipline is disregarded, one will go to lower realms.
Great learning will be no protection.

May all who spoil their discipline and commit downfalls repair their actions sincerely and with strong remorse, confessing what is to be confessed and resolving not to fail again. At all times, may they purify their negative actions. And having done so, may they never, in the immediate term, be reborn in the lower realms. May they always be born among the higher destinies, and, taking monastic ordination, may they keep their discipline and practice purely and without decline.
