English	Therefore I will aspire and tend to virtue, And steep myself in it with great devotion. And with the method stated in the Vajradhvaja,89The Vajradhvaja-sūtra, The Diamond Banner Sūtra, is in fact a subsection of the larger Avataṃsaka-sūtra. The following passage is taken from it: ‟When the sun shines, O Devaputra, it illuminates the entire world, regardless of the blindness of beings and the mountain shadows. In the same way, Bodhisattvas appear for the liberation of beings, regardless of the obstacles that these may present.” I will train in confident assurance. Therefore it is through having confidence in the principle of karmic cause and effect that we will abandon negative actions and aspire and tend exclusively to virtue by means of keen and focused interest. We must steep ourselves in this understanding of the principle of adopting and rejecting.
