Of the 27,571 edits made on the wiki so far in 2026, by 29 editors, Alex made 9,747. His busiest day was 26 July, with 203 edits. The figures below come from his contributions and the wiki's logs.
Growing the library[edit]
| What | New pages |
|---|---|
| Library items: Books | 175 |
| Library items: Articles | 148 |
| Library items: Texts | 140 |
| Library items: Media | 235 |
| Library items: Dissertations | 19 |
| People | 439 |
| Organisations | 181 |
| Full-text pages | 192 |
| Redirects (alternate titles and spellings) | 2,756 |
That is 717 new library items, and 620 people and organisations to connect them to. Most new pages are redirects: each one is a way a reader, a search or a citation can find a page by another name. That includes Tibetan and Sanskrit titles, catalogue numbers (RKTSK/RKTST) and variant spellings. His 2,756 redirects are a big part of why links across the wiki resolve.
He also moved 141 pages to better titles, deleted 126 obsolete ones, uploaded 39 files, and ran 72 bulk text replacements to tidy topic tags across pages.
Full texts[edit]
Alex added the complete text of 136 works in 192 full-text pages, about 100 MB of text. Many are complete Tibetan Derge texts, including some of the longest works in the canon:
- Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā (RKTST 3135), Tibetan Derge: 9.2 MB
- Vinayasūtraṭīkā, Tibetan Derge: 7.6 MB, also split into parts
- Gaṇḍavyūhasūtra: 4.2 MB
Teachings in sound and video[edit]
235 new Media library items, mostly recorded teaching series, among them:
- The Great Non-sectarian Conference on Acharya Shantideva's Bodhicaryavatara: 21 sessions
- Mapping the Road to Enlightenment: Mahayana Grounds & Paths by Don Handrick: 9 sessions
- The 14th Dalai Lama's Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment (7) and The Diamond Sutra (4)
- Teachings by Geshe Dorji Damdul, Thubten Chodron, Melanie Polatinsky and others
The Śikṣāsamuccaya and its sources[edit]
Alex made 483 edits to 379 segments of the aligned Śikṣāsamuccaya, correcting and filling in the sources of its quotations. He also created the text pages and redirects that let those quotations reach the works they come from. These are the quotations shown in the "Quoted in the aligned translations" panel on each text page.
His work is why Texts Cited in Śikṣāsamuccaya now lists 78 works automatically, and why the curators' list of cited works not yet tagged has shrunk from 24 to 13. He is also the main user of the QuoteSource Unresolved Values review page, which lists source names that still need identifying.
Tools he built[edit]
- Widget:ScrollFix (March): makes a link to a heading land in the right place on long pages that are still loading. Used on 11 pages, including the Tales of Engaging the Way of the Bodhisattva chapters in Practice.
- Widget:JumpToSegment (August): the same idea for the bilingual layouts, where the passages load in stages. His prototype on Śikṣāsamuccaya chapter 1 tackled the problem later solved across the site for the "Read the passage" links.
- Template:SoundCloud and Widget:SoundCloudEmbed (January, later refined with Jeremi): embed SoundCloud audio in a page.
He also made smaller improvements to shared templates, including ReadingRoomText, InlineImage, ConceptContent and LibraryItem. The gadget he uses most, InstantRedirectCreation (94 redirects this year), is Jeremi's.

Ideas for presenting this work[edit]
- The Śikṣāsamuccaya detective story. Tracing each of Śāntideva's quotations back to its source, and watching the uncited list shrink from 24 to 13. Many identifications took real scholarship.
- A library that finds itself. 2,756 redirects: why alternate titles, Tibetan and Sanskrit names and catalogue numbers matter to how readers and citations reach a text.
- The full-text push. 136 works, about 100 MB, including some of the longest texts in the canon, now readable and searchable on the wiki.
- Teachings you can listen to. The Great Non-sectarian Conference and the other recorded series, and how they connect to the texts they teach.
- Building tools as a curator. ScrollFix and JumpToSegment: noticing a reader's problem and prototyping a fix.
