It is because he thinks, ‘By doing so, I would suffer physically and be unhappy mentally.’ Similarly, while a bodhisattva also has the thought of nirvāṇa, he does not actualize nirvāṇa. And why? It is because he thinks ‘By doing so, I would be turning away from Awakening’. |
