Edgerton 370, La Vallée Poussin Abhk.vii89ff And this level is called ‘Praiseworthy Intellect' on account of acquiring the distinction of a faultless intellect through skillfulness in all sorts of Dharma instructions. And at this [level] he becomes an expert in the four analytic sciences. (But) so long as he is unable to display Buddha-fields, retinues, magical projections and so on, and cannot ripen beings through the display of the complete teachings, that long it remains the ninth level. When he can, then from the fulfillment of this limb the tenth level is established. |
