| English | And at this level the bodhisattva's perfection of patience becomes exceedingly powerful on account of enduring all kinds of hardship in order to acquire the entire range of worldly samādhis by staying true to (dhāraṇa) to what had been learned. On the basis of acquiring those samādhis this level is called ‘The Luminous,’ since it creates an immeasurable light of knowledge that transcends the world. Even so, so long as this one who has acquired the entire range of worldly samādhis is unable to consistently maintain the factors that aid Awakening just as they were acquired, and as well cannot keep the mind equanimous in respect of all these attainments, that long it remains the third level. But when he can, then from the fulfillment of this limb the fourth level is established. |
