For the Candrapradīpa Sūtra says,41This scripture had a considerable influence on Buddhist philosophy in both India and Tibet, but was less well known in East Asia. Śāntideva refers to it by the name of its main character, Candrapradīpa or "Moon Lamp," but the text is more commonly known as the King of Samādhis (Samādhi-rāja-sūtra). A great deal of valuable scholarly information about it, as well as a translation of the first four chapters, can be found in Gomez and Silk 1989. This particular passage corresponds very closely to verses 3-4 in chapter 35 of the sūtra, p. 464 in Dutt 1954. |
