It does not make sense that a chariot intrinsically possesses its parts. This is because the two ways of possession—of what is essentially different or essentially the same, respectively like Upagupta possessing an ox and Upagupta possessing a form—are nothing other than relationships of identity and difference, and both of these have already been negated. Both the positions that the chariot intrinsically is supported by its parts and that the parts are intrinsically supported by the chariot are not reasonable because, if they were, then they would have to be intrinsically different and their essential difference has already been negated. It is also not reasonable for a chariot to be held to be the mere collection of its parts, like the wheels. If it were reasonable, then it would absurdly follow that the collection that is a pile of all the separate chariot parts—the wheels, axle, bolts, and so forth—would also be a chariot.
