The meaning of the cessation of all mind and mental states at the stage of a buddha is that there is no mind or mental states that are conceptual. Clear Words says: “Conceptuality is the movement of mind. Since it is free from this, reality is nonconceptual.”217Candrakīrti, Clear Words, 120a. It explains this, citing a sūtra that says: “That which does not have the movements of mind . . . .”218Bodhisattva Basket (Bodhisattvapiṭaka, H. 56, vol. 37), 320a; Candrakīrti, Clear Words, 120a. Also, the Introduction to the Middle Way says: “Without concepts, until the end of existence you . . . .”219Candrakīrti, Introduction to the Middle Way, XI.27. In the autocommentary it frequently says that the meaning of the cessation of mind is the cessation of concepts. It also describes gnosis and wisdom that is free from the eye disease of ignorance. Nāgārjuna says:
