For this reason, the arguments that refute external objects found in Mind-Only texts refute the type of external objects asserted by Vaibhāṣikas and Sautrāntikas. Nevertheless, Mind-Only arguments do not undermine the kind of external objects that are posited merely conventionally, without analysis. Furthermore, the argument that the pair of objects and cognitions are coextensively existent or nonexistent undermines the position of proponents of Mind-Only who do not accept external objects even conventionally. Not only can a conventional source of knowledge not negate external objects, but since this kind of source of knowledge undermines the nonexistence of external objects, external objects are posited here conventionally.
