In the context of Prāsaṅgika, every time it is said that all phenomena lack intrinsic nature even conventionally, it is not to be understood as meaning that even conventionally there are no intrinsic natures, like heat being the intrinsic nature of fire and so on. Rather, it is stated in this way to indicate that nothing exists on its own or has an objectively existent intrinsic nature even conventionally. For this reason, these two traditions have distinct criteria for positing conventional existence. In the system of Svātantrika, a conventionally existent object, like a sprout, is understood to exist by the force of its appearance to cognition in accord with its own mode of being (rang gi sdod lugs ltar). Moreover, prior to cognition’s ascription, the cognized sprout is held to first exist with an objective mode of being (rang ngos kyi sdod lugs). Due to this essential point, the existence of intrinsically existent sprouts, etc. is asserted.[p.74]The Profound Reality of Interdependence
