The meaning of arising from self here is that they accept that a seed and a sprout are intrinsically the same. Thus, when a sprout arises from the nature of a seed, the nature of the seed is also the nature of the sprout. Thereby, this comes to mean that a sprout arises from its own nature; this is the meaning of arising from self. For them, arising from self does not mean that a sprout arises from a sprout, for instance; this is because they claim that a seed and sprout are mutually distinct, and that a sprout arises from a seed.
