| English | One might wonder how this is. Some Indian masters explained the Fundamental Verses of the Middle Way and the Four Hundred Verses as Mind-Only texts. Also, others explained their viewpoint as Madhyamaka from the aspect of the view, yet they described some of the ways of understanding the conventional truth in accord with Mind-Only—not accepting external objects and positing self-awareness. Also, other Mādhyamikas asserted that phenomena exist on their own conventionally, and accepted autonomous arguments and theses. They understood that to apprehend true existence is a cognitive obscuration and did not accept that it was necessary for those traversing the sublime path of Hīnayāna to definitely realize the subtle emptiness. There are many ways of commentary, yet all of them appear to be ways of explaining the viewpoint of sublime beings. |
