| English | Master Vairocanarakṣita says that from “The freedoms and endowments. . .” (1.4) shows the benefits. Prajñākaramati and Kalyāṇadeva maintain that the benefits are shown from “In the way that at night . . .” (1.5). Vibhūticandra and most Tibetan commentaries say that the two stanzas from “The freedoms and endowments . . .” (1.4–5) present the support of the spirit of awakening. This explanation makes sense and so is adopted here as well. Moreover the first of these two stanzas shows that the bodily support is difficult to find, and the second stanza shows that it is difficult for a virtuous mind to appear. From here on, the rest of the text shows the meaning of the topic. How does it do so? It does so for the most part as stated above, but I will explain it here in a little bit more detail. |
