Some schools assert that, if a defeat is not concealed, then even the pratimokṣa vow can be taken again if the old vow is given back and there is full ordination. Nevertheless this is not like taking the bodhisattva vow again. The support of a fully ordained monastic who is not a bodhisattva and does not conceal the defeat takes the vow again. Compared to before, when full ordination had not taken place, they are as if a genuine, fully ordained monastic. Nevertheless, it still will not be a pure monastic vow in their continuum. This is because, even when a defeat is not concealed, compared to a pure, fully ordained monastic without a defeat, the one with the defeat is said to be like someone without full ordination.
