Compounds without possessions56Compounds without possessions (denmin dujit) are compounds without material substance or consciousness. According to Tsepak Rigzin’s Tibetan-English Dictionary of Buddhist Terminology, there are fourteen: attainment; non-attainment; equal state; non-perception; absorption without perception; absorption in cessation; life-force; birth; aging; abiding; impermanence; collection of names; collection of words; collection of letters. are also believed to substantially exist. The three times are also believed to exist as substances which go from one time to another time. The Vaivashika believe that although the consciousnesses of the sense organs do not arise in the form of objects, they immediately meet with their objects. The consciousnesses are directly aware of the gross aspect of their objects’ accumulation of atoms.[p.337]A Commentary on Shantideva's Engaging in the Conduct of the Bodhisattvas
