English

This quotation explains that these three: uncompounded space, cessation with analysis, and cessation without analysis, are believed by the Vaivashika to have permanent substantial existence without being produced by causes and conditions. All compounded phenomena, which are summarized as material and awareness, are believed to exist as substances with a momentary nature and to be produced by causes and conditions. They are empty of the self held by the other schools, and lack a creator such as Ishvara, etc.
