English

Unlike that of ordinary beings, the buddhas' activity does not require any effort or purposeful aim. Just as water naturally has the quality of moistening things and dissolving din, so too every minute action of Avalokiteshvara's, even a gesture of his hand, brings others toward liberation. This is the result of powerful prayers and aspirations that Avalokiteshvara made before attaining enlightenment. Liberation from samsara would not be possible without the infinite compassion and wisdom of the buddhas. Consider your root teacher-the one who unerringly shows you what to do and what not to do-as inseparable from Avalokiteshvara, and pay homage with great devotion and respect.
