What is denied is the inverted attachment to the perfections beginning with giving, which belongs to someone who is attached to thoughts of ‘I’ and ‘mine’, who is attached to the dualistic mind, and who is an apprehender. For those who have set themselves up with [such] a mistaken attachment, giving and the rest are impure. And therefore, it is said that they are Māra's work. |
