| English | In this context, at the time of meditation, one first of all finishes off one's obligations and empties one's bowels and bladder. Then, in a pleasant spot without a thorn of sound, having oriented oneself towards great compassion, this yogin who intends to rescue all living beings resolves, “May I bring all sentient beings into the heart of Awakening.” One makes prostrations to all the Buddhas and bodhisattvas residing in the ten directions by placing pictures of their bodies in front of oneself or elsewhere, praising them as much as one can and making offerings to them as one pleases. Having confessed one's faults, one rejoices in the merits of all living beings. Then this one whose awareness is drawn inward should sit down on a very soft and comfortable seat, in the manner of the venerable Vairocana’s Lotus posture, or alternatively in the Half-lotus posture, with eyes directed at the tip of the nose, neither too open nor closed, and with an erect body that is neither too bent nor too rigid. |
