| English | Merely this way of understanding the three times is the same in Sautrāntika, Mind-Only, and Svātantrika, yet they assert that an entity must be in the present. Thus, they claim that the past and future are non-entities, and moreover, non-implicative negations. In this Prāsaṅgika system, the past and future are held to be entities, and moreover, implicative negations. This is because the phrase “sprout’s disintegration” excludes its non-disintegration and the phrase “future sprout” excludes its occurrence. Not only are these two objects of negation merely excluded, but another entity is implied. Furthermore, it is held that the former implicates the arising of a sprout’s disintegration based on the sprout. The latter implicates the entity of a future sprout that lacks the complete conditions for a sprout’s arising. |
