Based on great compassion, the spirit of awakening, and the practices of the six transcendent perfections, it shows the path to becoming a buddha through the stages of the ten grounds. Praise to the Basic Field of Reality (Dharmadhātustotra) teaches going for refuge, the spirit of awakening, the ten transcendent perfections, and the ten grounds as the concise body of the path. The meaning of this is elaborated in the Anthology of Sūtras. It establishes this through citing many passages from sūtras that show the difficulty of finding the freedoms and advantages, faith, the spirit of awakening, and compassion. Also, [656] it shows how it is difficult to relinquish things like karmic obscurations that wound or disparage the spirit of awakening, demonic actions, and actions of rejecting the dharma. The Four Hundred Verses also taught the body of the path as the complete twofold vast and profound. Aśvaghoṣa taught the cultivation of the conventional spirit of awakening, which includes:
