| English | To divide nirvana in terms of its modes of expression (sgra brjod rigs), there is natural nirvana, non-abiding nirvana, nirvana with remainder, and nirvana without remainder. The emptiness that is phenomena’s emptiness of true existence is natural nirvana. This and the ultimate truth have the same meaning. In the Prāsaṅgika system, it is not necessarily that natural nirvana is not nirvana, because there is a common ground of the truth of cessation and the ultimate truth. The analytical cessation that has relinquished the two obscurations without exception is the non-abiding nirvana. This and Mahāyāna nirvana, as well as consummate nirvana, have the same meaning. |
