| English | Prāsaṅgikas accept that to realize the subtle selflessness of persons, it is necessary to realize the emptiness of a person’s intrinsic existence. Also, Prāsaṅgikas accept that the truth of the path is the realization of this kind of subtle selflessness, and due to this, that the truth of cessation is the elimination of those potentials (sa bon) to be relinquished. It is through cultivation, having realized the sixteen subtle aspects with these kinds of features, that it is held to be necessary to become liberated from cyclic existence. Here, the emptiness of a person existing on its own is understood as the selflessness of persons, and apprehending a person existing on its own is understood as apprehending the self of persons.
