| English | To apprehend the existence of phenomena in a way that they are not merely posited by names and concepts, as explained above, is the innate apprehension of true existence. If things are established as truly existent in the way they are apprehended, they are said to truly exist, ultimately exist, correctly exist, exist in reality, intrinsically exist, objectively exist, exist on their own, and substantially exist. All these here are, without distinction, objects of negation for reason investigating the ultimate; they do not exist even conventionally. The apprehension of these objects of negation to exist with respect to persons and phenomena is the twofold apprehension of self. The objects of these two modes of apprehension is the twofold self. This will be explained extensively below. |
