| English | There are two kinds of individuals who ascertain the two truths: ordinary beings and yogis. Among the ordinary beings, there are also two: the primary ones are the realists (dngos smra ba), and the ancillary ones are those who have not been influenced by philosophies. The realists are said to be primary because they have directly engaged in the ascertainment of the two truths by reason. Those who are not influenced by philosophies are ancillary because they need to engage reason in this way. There are also two types of yogis: the sublime beings who have directly realized emptiness, and individuals who understand emptiness through study and contemplation. |
