Likewise, [669] the “conventional” in “conventional truth” (kun rdzob bden pa) and the “conventional” in “conventionally exists” (kun rdzob tu yod) are the same word with different meanings. The former refers to the innate apprehension of true existence because all conventional phenomena are said to be “conventional truths” due to being true from the perspective of a conventional mind with an innate apprehension of true existence. The latter refers to a source of knowledge that investigates the conventional because what is found by a source of knowledge investigating the conventional is posited to conventionally exist.
