is the reason for something to be posited as conventional; rather, it identifies the reason as being the apprehension of true existence that understands forms and so on as true from the perspective of any conventional mind. Nevertheless, everything that is held to be merely true from a perspective that apprehends true existence is not posited as conventional truth, for instance, like the basic nature and the twofold self. “Conventional” (kun rdzob) in the term “conventional truth” refers to the ignorance that apprehends true existence. “Customary” (tha snyad) in the term “customary truth” refers to all conventional truths, so there is a difference in extension between them.
