To make this known, Clear Words cites the Descent to Laṅka: “Mahāmati, with the intent of no intrinsic arising, I said that all phenomena are non-arising.”494Candrakīrti, Clear Words, 167b. Thus, our teacher himself says that statements of non-arising intend no intrinsic arising. Therefore, the first two lines show that being a dependent arising—arising from conditions—entails not intrinsically arising. |
