English

In general, among arguments ascertaining selflessness, there are many formulated as reductios and many formulated as probative arguments. From among these, the main argument to ascertain the selflessness of phenomena is this: the argument negating arising from the four extremes, or “the argument of the diamond shards.” Moreover, as was explained before, one must negate objective existence with respect to all phenomena, [801] but first one should negate it with respect to conditioned phenomena. This is because entities that are efficacious are major grounds for the confusion of realism; unconditioned phenomena, which are not efficacious in this way, are minor grounds for the confusion of apprehending true existence.
