| English | Also, the Nyāya-Vaiśeṣikas say, “The creation of all abodes, bodies, and enjoyments is preceded by a being’s thought. Like a hatchet, he abides and engages in actions. Like pots and so on, he has features of shape. Like a battle-ax, he is efficacious. Since no one other than Īśvara can do this, all of this is the creation of Īśvara. Therefore, Īśvara is omniscient, too.” Further, they say, “Īśvara is the creator of the various states of sentient beings—the high and low, happiness and suffering. This is because we can see the muddle of evildoers who live long, stingy people who are wealthy, and benefactors who are poor. For example, it is like the way some kings will bring favor to their friends and bring suffering to enemies.” For their path of liberation, they say it is to practice vase-breathing, to experience the bliss of ejaculation by consorting with a woman, and to receive initiations from the tip of Īśvara’s liṅgaṃ. They consider liberation to be—from among the four gnoses at the time of waking, dreaming, sleep, and sex—the fourth gnosis that arises from the bliss of ejaculation during sex.[p.225]The Profound Reality of Interdependence |
