| English | The basis of the dispute between Prāsaṅgika and Svātantrika is whether or not anything exists on its own. The system of Prāsaṅgika does not accept autonomous probative arguments, but does accept reasons for which the three modes are established by a source of knowledge. Further, drawing upon the assertions of an opponent, and based on what is widely acknowledged in their position, Prāsaṅgikas put forward arguments acknowledged by others. Otherwise, there are no commonly appearing logical subjects held between a Prāsaṅgika and Svātantrikas and below.
