These actions were motivated and caused by the afflictions, the three poisons, and were directed toward the Three Jewels, which is the special field of unexcelled qualities; toward my parents, who are the field of benefits; and [77] toward the field of kindness, my teachers as well as other masters and preceptors. All of these harmful and mistaken acts I have done function to bring about extensive, horrible maturations. That is, they cause suffering in cyclic existence in general and suffering in the lower realms in particular. Also, they obstruct the path to the higher realms and liberation. Thus I have been continually engrossed in many faults. |
