If this were not the case, they would not be liberated from samsara—just like the non-Buddhist renunciates.46It is the Buddhist contention that, however elevated the views of the Hindu schools may be, they do not include the realization of the emptiness of the personal self. They consequently lead to protracted states of bliss in the form and formless realms but not to liberation from samsara. This matter has been demonstrated in great detail, and since it is important to understand it exactly, I have expatiated on it for a short while. |
