English	Acting thus with faith and understanding, You should always undertake good works. And in whatever actions you perform, You should not be dependent on another. Whatever Dharma practice is performed, it is first important to have a perfect understanding of its purpose and to have faith or confidence in it. It is thus that, at all times, good deeds like the six paramitas of the Bodhisattvas are to be performed. It is just as in the account of how Atisha used to make tsa-tsas himself—in all actions of offering and giving, and so on, we should not depend on others: people exhorting us or people who would do them on our behalf. If we ourselves are able to do them, we should. But if we are not able, it is not at all appropriate to rely on others (to do them for us).

Pāramitā - The six or ten types of practices which lead an individual to Buddhahood. The practice of perfections is particularly important in Mahāyāna Buddhism in which the entire path of the Bodhisattva to reach full enlightenment is included in the six or ten perfections. The six perfections are that of giving, of discipline, patience, zeal, meditation, and wisdom. The perfection of skill-in-means, aspirations, power, and pristine wisdom are added to them to make ten perfections. Skt पारमिता  Tib ཕར་ཕྱིན།;ཕ་རོལ་ཏུ་ཕྱིན་པ།  Ch 波羅蜜

Bodhisattva - A person who seeks enlightenment for the sake of others. In Mahāyāna Buddhism, a bodhisattva is a compassionate being who is training on the path to buddhahood and aspires to eliminate the suffering of all beings and take all sentient beings to the state of enlightenment.
