Meditation on loving-kindness is more excellent in its effects than even the act of making offerings to all the Buddhas. Moreover, it brings forth the eight qualities of love, as we find exemplified in the story of the ancient king Maitribala who by his meditation on love was able to prevent five demon brothers from causing harm to the world’s inhabitants. |
