Offerings made to those with loving minds

Reveal the eminence of living beings.81Kunzang Pelden explains this verse as follows. A person who has perfect love for others becomes an excellent object of reverence, and offerings made to such a person are productive of extremely positive karmic results. But the perfect love of a saint only comes about in relation to other beings, which in turn reveals the value and importance of the latter. Merit that accrues from faith in Buddha

Shows in turn the Buddha’s eminence.

Let us consider those whose minds are absorbed in love, the essence of the fourth samadhi. If we make offering to such practitioners promptly, when they have arisen from their meditation but not yet from their seats, the result of such an action will ripen quickly and will be experienced in this present life. This reveals the eminence of living beings. Through having their loving minds focused on beings, such meditators become perilous objects.161See note 140. Again, merit that derives from faith in the Buddhas, the offering of a single flower or a single drop of water, the holding up of just one hand in a gesture of homage and so on—all this will turn into inexhaustible virtue tending to liberation. And this reveals the eminence of the Buddhas.
