Potowa Rinchen Sel was an important master of the early Kadam. He founded Poto Monastery in Penyul for which he derived his title. He ordained at Gyel Lhakang, and went to Reting in 1058, becoming a chief disciple of Dromton and serving as that monastery’s third abbot.
