| English | The object of such a dedication is the entire aggregate of beings, as vast as space. We should wish that they all attain perfect buddhahood. We should pray that they develop an attitude turned toward supreme enlightenment and that they engage correctly in the paramitas, namely, the practice of generosity and the other Bodhisattva practices. Great enlightenment cannot occur in the absence of its proper cause. To dedicate virtue to the attainment of the result, namely, enlightenment, or to dedicate virtue (as in the Bodhicharyavatara) to the practice that is the cause of great enlightenment comes to the same thing. |
