Verses 50 to 52 connect to the practice of refuge in the exalted bodhisattvas who are the Sangha Jewel. Realizing the miserable situation he has found himself in, Śāntideva is gripped with dread and cries out to the children of the conquerors, the great bodhisattvas, for help, particularly to help eradicate the future results ensuing from our negative karma.
