Lokottaraparivarta (Tib. 'jig rten las 'das pa'i le'u, "Chapter on Transcending the World") is chapter 44 of 45 in the Buddhāvataṃsakasūtra (Toh 44, Dege Kangyur vol. 37, phal chen, ga). One of only five chapters in the Avataṃsaka with its own introductory narrative (nidāna), it presents a teaching by the bodhisattva Samantabhadra delivered after he enters a samādhi called sangs rgyas phal po che ("Multitude of Buddhas"). It immediately precedes the sūtra's final and longest chapter, the Gaṇḍavyūha.
