If we need to take so much care and attention when close to just a small precipice, what need is there to speak of the care and conscientiousness we require when we are in danger of falling into the deepest chasm of suffering, from which we will need to remain for a vast stretch of time before we can be free of that place. The danger to us here is our habitual negative patterns. Therefore, we must take great care to avoid engaging in faulty karmic actions, and we must rely on the antidote to the afflictions.
