English	Due to understanding afflictive ignorance in a different way, [742] the other afflictions are also presented differently here than in Svātantrika and similar positions. In Prāsaṅgika, the apprehension of self that holds onto a person existing as a self-subsisting substance, and the subsidiary and ancillary afflictions that arise from that (as mentioned in common with the two Abhidharma texts), are understood to be coarse afflictions. The apprehension of a self that is a person or phenomenon existing on its own, and the craving and so on that arise from that, are understood to be subtle afflictions mentioned only in this tradition. Understanding these kinds of subtle ignorance and craving, which are not acknowledged as afflictions in other systems, is due to the essential point that here in Prāsaṅgika, nothing is held to exist on its own and apprehending true existence is understood to be an afflictive obscuration.

Bodhisattva - A person who seeks enlightenment for the sake of others.
