English

The Mahāyāna canon teaches conditioned phenomena to be without intrinsic arising, and the Hīnayāna canon teaches the exhaustion of conditioned phenomena. These two have the same meaning in revealing emptiness, so do not be intolerant of the Mahāyāna’s teachings of emptiness. This was spoken in the context of establishing the Mahāyāna as the Buddha’s Word.
