English

It is not that everything that is posited by just any cognition is accepted as conventionally existent; rather, the understanding cognition must be an unimpaired cognition. The meaning of being unimpaired is that it is not influenced by temporary causes of distortion; that which is understood by such a cognition is said to be undistorted. As for the meaning of being undistorted, it is asserted as that which can be warranted by a cognition in the way that the object objectively exists in its own mode of being. It is not that the understanding mind must be unaffected by fundamental causes of distortion[p.71]The Profound Reality of Interdependence

because the appearance of phenomena existing on their own is an appearance that is influenced by the causes of distortion. This is because it is influenced by the innate apprehension of true existence.
