If these points are understood, then so is the essential point of why there is no conflict between the statement that the basic nature—the way things are—is the ultimate truth and the statement that the basic nature is established as the way things are, yet does not ultimately exist. The basic nature is the object warranted by an intelligent cognition investigating the ultimate and is the object it finds; nevertheless, it need not withstand analysis by that intelligent cognition. These distinctions are to be clearly differentiated. [679] Due to not differentiating these, it is said that there come to be claims such that the ultimate truth truly exists and withstands analysis or that the ultimate truth is not an object of cognition.
