In order to generate the pure view of Madhyamaka within your continuum, it is first necessary to identify the subtle object of negation through reasoning investigating the ultimate in the Madhyamaka system. This is because, before the concept of true existence (the object to be negated) appears to cognition, emptiness (which is a non-implicative negation negating that object) does not appear to cognition. For instance, it is just like how one is unable to ascertain by a source of knowledge the lack of a vase in a certain place without first having an appearance to cognition of the concept of vase, the object to be negated. In this way, our text says:
