In the Svātantrika tradition and below, it is asserted that a reliable source of knowledge is necessarily not mistaken regarding its warranted object. Nevertheless, here in Prāsaṅgika, for a source of knowledge in the continuum of an ordinary being, and for a conventional source of knowledge in the continuum of a sublime being who is impaired by predispositions for the distortions of dualistic appearance, whatever is an epistemically warranted object is held to be necessarily a distorted cognition. Thus, a distorted cognition and a source of knowledge are held to be non-contradictory. |
