| English | This describes meditation on selflessness having negated the apprehension of the self of phenomena together with its conceived objects. There is also a twofold division within “the apprehension of the self of phenomena” in terms of its mode of expression: the coarse and the subtle. Within the coarse apprehension of the self of phenomena as well, there are imputed ones (like apprehending temporally partless moments that are the smallest instants of time, and spatially partless minute particles), and there are innate ones (like apprehending as separate substances the macro-objects that are constituted by partless minute particles, which are asserted by the two realist schools, and the sources of knowledge that apprehend them). Within the subtle apprehension of the self of phenomena, too, there is the imputed, which is an apprehension that holds it to be reasonable for forms and so on to exist on their own having been analyzed by reason; and the innate, which is apprehending forms and so on to exist on their own naturally or by default, without relying upon an engaged reasoned analysis. The imputed is present in the continua of only those whose minds have been influenced by philosophical systems.
